The time to stand up after the iqamah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of fatwa number ( 17332 )
Q 2: During the iqamah, should we remain seated until the mu'adhdhin reaches: (The prayer has begun), and then we stand up, and while standing we say: May Allah establish it and make it permanent as long as the heavens and the earth remain? Is this correct or not?
A 2: It is permissible to stand up for the prayer at the beginning of the iqamah, and if you wait until
the mu'adhdhin says: The prayer has begun, there is nothing wrong with that, provided the imam is present at the time of the iqamah; otherwise, you do not stand up until you see him. As for saying: May Allah establish it and make it permanent, nothing has been established regarding this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so it is better to leave it and say what the mu'adhdhin says: The prayer has begun, the prayer has begun. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
