Is there a specific time for the ma'mum to stand for prayer during the iqamah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: The brother: A. A. M. from Cairo says in his question: Is there a specific time for the ma'mum to stand for prayer when he hears the iqamah? In other words: Does he stand when the mu'adhdhin says: (The prayer has begun)? Or before that? Or after he finishes the iqamah? Or is the matter broad in this regard? We ask for clarification. May Allah guide you in this world and the Hereafter.

A: There is no specific time prescribed in the pure Shari'ah for standing for prayer during the iqamah. Rather, it is permissible for the ma'mum to stand for prayer at the beginning of the iqamah, or in the middle of it, or at the end of it. The matter is broad in this regard, and I do not know of any scriptural evidence that necessitates specifying a time for the ma'mums to stand when they hear the iqamah. And as for whoever among the jurists says that it is prescribed to stand when the mu'adhdhin says: (The prayer has begun), I do not know of any evidence for that.
However, if the imam is not present at the time of the iqamah, then the Sunnah for the ma'mums is not to stand until they see him; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
When the iqama is pronounced, do not get up till you see I have come out.إذا أقيمت الصلاة فلا تقوموا حتى تروني قد خرجت
