The sick person who leaves off the prayer must make it up
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of fatwa number ( 20014 )
Q 2: I used to not perform the obligatory prayer when I was ill and the illness was severe, and I did not have knowledge of the necessity of making it up, even if a person is lying down. Sometimes I would sleep through it while in a state of illness, and I did not make it up. The problem now is: if I want to make them up, I do not know how many obligatory prayers I left off. Is it obligatory for me to make up those prayers now? Knowing that a long time has passed since this, I ask your eminence to inform me and guide me regarding these two issues. May Allah place that in the scales of your deeds, and may He bless your knowledge and benefit the Muslims through you.
A 2: It is obligatory for you to make up the prayers you left off during the time of illness. If you do not know their number, then you estimate them, take precaution, and make them up in order according to the days and the daily prayers. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
