Shortening the Prayer for a Resident
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20181 )
Q 1: A resident prayed with a group of travelers and shortened the Dhuhr and Asr prayers with them, forgetting that he was a resident. He then remembered this before the Maghrib prayer. What should he do? Should he repeat the prayers in full, or just pray the two missing rak'ahs? Please inform us, and may Allah reward you.
A 1: You must hasten to make up the two prayers mentioned in full; because you erred in shortening them while you were a resident; because shortening is specific to the traveler. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
