What should I do with my elder brother to make him pray
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19050 )
Q 2: My elder brother does not pray; what should I do with him? I hope you will give him advice so that Allah, the Exalted and Sublime, will guide him from the Holy Land to rectify his affairs and establish the obligatory acts of Allah, the Exalted and Sublime.
A 2: You should advise your brother and urge him to obedience by doing what Allah has commanded him to do and avoiding what Allah has forbidden him, guiding him with wisdom, good admonition, and a pleasant manner, and gifting him some beneficial Islamic books and tapes. What we advise him to do is sincere repentance for what has passed, staying away from bad companions, striving to keep the company of righteous companions, attending Islamic lectures and seminars, and listening to the Holy Quran Radio in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for it contains much good. He should also increase his recitation of the Quran with reflection and humility before Allah the Exalted, increase in voluntary acts of worship, and maintain
the obligatory prayers at their times, for prayer forbids immorality and wrongdoing. Perhaps Allah will accept his repentance and his return to Him and replace his bad deeds with good ones. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
