Q: I became in a state of major ritual impurity and did not find water, so I performed dry ablution. Do I have to perform dry ablution again, and is performing it once sufficient or not ? May Allah reward you with good.
A : If you search for water and do not find it, or are unable to reach it, and you fear that the time for prayer will pass, then you perform dry ablution. Its method is: you strike the ground with your hands once, then wipe your face with the palms of your hands, then wipe the back of your right hand with the palm of your left hand, then wipe the back of your left hand with the palm of your right hand; based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with itوَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ مَرْضَى أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ أَوْ لامَسْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا مَاءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ مِنْهُ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]

And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
