The supplications recited when facing accidents

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q63: What are the dhikr and supplications we recite when facing accidents ?
A63: The servant should frequently engage in the remembrance of Allah, seeking His forgiveness, and making supplication to Him in all
his circumstances. When he is about to face an accident, he should increase his remembrance of Allah, seek His forgiveness, and ask his Lord for success in what he is about to undertake, and for Him to help him, guide him, save him, and save those upon whom the accident has befallen. Among what is said in that difficult situation is the supplication of distress, which, as reported in (al-Sahihayn) from him (peace and blessings be upon him), is that he used to say in times of distress:
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Majestic, the Most Forbearing. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Lord of the Tremendous Throne. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Lord of the Heavens and the Lord of the Honourable Throne.لا إله إلا الله العظيم الحليم، لا إله إلا الله رب العرش العظيم، لا إله إلا الله رب السموات والأرض رب العرش الكريم
Sahih al-Bukhari 7431
. It is also reported in (Sunan Abu Dawud ) and (Sahih Ibn Hibban ) from Abu Bakrah , traced to the Prophet:
The supplications to be used by one who is distressed are: "O Allah! Thy mercy is what I hope for. Do not abandon me to myself for an instant, but put all my affairs in good order for me. There is no god but Thou."دعوات المكروب: اللهم رحمتك أرجو فلا تكلني إلى نفسي طرفة عين، وأصلح لي شأني كله، لا إله إلا أنت
Sunan Abi Dawud 5090Hasan in chain (Al-Albani)
. And among what is said in such a situation is the supplication with which Yunus (peace be upon him) called upon his Lord, where he said while in the belly of the whale: "There is no deity except You, Glorified are You, indeed I have been of the wrongdoers," so Allah saved him. Thus, from Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Prophet Yunus) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was: ‘There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You, Indeed, I have been of the transgressors. (Lā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu minaẓ-ẓālimīn)’ So indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.”دعوة ذي النون إذ دعا في بطن الحوت: لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين، فإنه لم يدع بها رجل مسلم في شيء قط إلا استجاب الله له
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3505Sahih (Darussalam)
. It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi .
