The Supplication Attributed to Anas ibn Malik

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A great supplication by Anas ibn Malik, whoever supplicates with it, no one has a way against him: Abdullah ibn Aban al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf sent me in search of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and I thought
that he would hide from him, so I came to him on horseback and on foot, and I found him sitting at the door of his house with his legs stretched out, so I said to him: Answer the prince, and he said: Which prince? I said: Abu Muhammad al-Hajjaj, and he said, without being concerned: Allah has humbled him, and I do not see anyone more humbled than him; for the noble one is the one who is noble by obeying Allah, and the humble one is the one who is humble by disobeying Allah, and your companion has rebelled, transgressed, encroached, and contradicted the Book of Allah and the Sunnah, and by Allah, Allah will take revenge on him. So I said to him: Be brief in your speech and answer the prince. He stood up with us until he was present before al-Hajjaj, and he said to him: Are you Anas ibn Malik? He said: Yes. The prince said: Are you the one who supplicates against us and curses us? He said: Yes. He said: And why is that? He said: Because you are disobedient to your Lord, contradicting the Sunnah of your Prophet, you honor the enemies of Allah, and you humble the close friends of Allah. He said to him: Do you know what I intend to do to you? He said: No. He said: I will kill you the worst of deaths. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If I knew that it was in your hand, I would worship you instead of Allah. al-Hajjaj said: Why is that? He said: Because the Messenger of Allah taught me a supplication, and said: Whoever supplicates with it every morning, no one has a way against him, and I supplicated with it this morning. Then al-Hajjaj said: Teach it to me. Then Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: May Allah protect me from teaching it to you as long as you are alive. Then al-Hajjaj said: Let him go. Then the doorkeeper said: O Prince, we spent such and such days in searching for him until we caught him, so how can we let him go? al-Hajjaj said: I saw two great lions on his shoulders with their mouths open. Then, when Anas (may Allah be pleased with him)
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Best of names, in the name of Allah, with whose name no harm can be done, in the name of Allah, the Sufficient, in the name of Allah, the Healer, in the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or in the sky can be harmed, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, in the name of Allah, upon my soul and my religion, in the name of Allah, upon my family and my wealth, in the name of Allah, upon everything my Lord has given me, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, I seek refuge in Allah from what I fear and dread, Allah is my Lord, I associate nothing with Him, Exalted is Your dwelling, Glorious is Your praise, and sanctified are Your names, and there is no god but You, O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of every tyrant who is stubborn, and every rebellious devil, and from the evil of a bad decree, and from the evil of every creature whose forelock You grasp, indeed my Lord is on a straight path.

A: This mentioned supplication differs in some of its wording from what the Hafidh Abu Bakr: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sunni mentioned in (A'mal al-Yawm wa al-Laylah), attributed to Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and the researcher of the book said about it: It contains Aban ibn Abi 'Iyash, who is abandoned as the Hafidh said in (al-Taqrib), and it contains someone who is not known, and it also differs from what came in Kanz al-'Umal, which attributed it to Ibn Sa'd, and Ibn al-Sunni, and there is no doubt that relying on the supplications established in the Book and the Sunnah is preferable.
