Q: We ask you, may Allah preserve you, to inform us about the ruling on this paper attached inside this letter. Is it authentic or not? May Allah reward you with good for the Muslims. (It is a picture ofthe letter attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed toal-Mundhir ibn Sawwa ".
A: This book is mentioned by the biographers in the context described, such as by Ibn al-Qayyim in (Zad al-Ma'ad 3/962), Ibn Sayyid al-Nas in (Uyun al-Athar), Ibn al-Athir in (his History), and others. However, we do not have any evidence of authentication that proves the attached letter is the very letter written by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
