Q 5: If a person comes to the mosque before the adhan, prays the obligatory prayer, and sits to recite the Qur'an, and the mu'adhdhin calls the adhan while he is reciting, which is better: that he recites without a disturbing voice while the mu'adhdhin calls until he reaches the last two takbirs, then he stops reciting and follows the mu'adhdhin from
the first takbir, saying what he says except the hi'lah, and if the mu'adhdhin completes the adhan and he completes following him, he obtains the two virtues: following what the mu'adhdhin says and benefiting from the recitation in the beginning of the adhan, and benefiting from following the mu'adhdhin, or if the mu'adhdhin begins the adhan, he cuts off the recitation and responds to him by following?
A 5 : It is the Sunnah for him to cut off the recitation and respond to the mu'adhdhin word for word; because of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan an-Nasa'i 678Sahih (Darussalam) . Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
