The reward of the listener to the Qur'an from the radio

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa number ( 21139 )
Q 5: Does an illiterate person who cannot read or write, when he listens to the Qur'an from the radio , receive the same reward as the one who recites the Qur'an?
A 5 : Reciting the Qur'an and listening to it are among the duties of the believer in this life, and they are among the best forms of worship. Emphasis on this and encouragement to do it have come in many verses and hadiths. Listening is achieved by listening to a person present, or from a radio broadcast, or from a recorded tape, and all of this carries reward and much good, if Allah wills. The listener should reflect and be humble when listening to the Qur'an and act upon what is in it; this is the greatest purpose of the descent of the great Qur'an, not merely listening, as is the case with many people. And Allah is the One to be sought for help. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
