Placing cement blocks containing iron and cement in the grave with the deceased
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 20274 )
Q: It has been unclear to some Muslims the ruling on placing cement containing iron and cement in the grave with the deceased , and they have stated that it is disliked because it contains what has been touched by fire. I have searched in the standard books for evidence of this dislike but have not found it to this day. I hope you will inform us, may Allah reward you with good, about the ruling on placing it in the grave with the deceased, and continuing
on that; because it is easier for people or changing it to clay blocks? Knowing that the work is entrusted to a contractor.
A : If strong clay mortar is available, it is preferable to use it to seal the grave niche rather than cement mortar. If clay mortar is not available, or if it is not obtainable except at a cost, there is no harm in using cement mortar in the grave, because there is no evidence prohibiting it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
