Cutting the tree growing on the grave
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number ( 17904 )
Q 1: Is it permissible to cut the tree growing on the grave , or is it better to leave it?
A 1 : There is nothing wrong with cutting the trees growing on the grave, provided that the sanctity of the grave is preserved and it is not desecrated by digging or stepping on it. Cutting the trees on graves becomes more emphasized if there is a fear of seeking blessing from them or giving them excessive reverence, or if their remaining causes harm to the grave or to the visitor who comes to the grave to offer greetings and make du'a for the deceased; because these trees may serve as a refuge for insects and snakes, so cutting them is preferable to leaving them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
