Ruling on Shaving the Head
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 18672 )
Q 4: Some people, especially in the summer season, are afflicted with shaving the head without a valid religious excuse; the one who shaves his head merely cites the intensity of the heat or custom as an excuse, knowing that shaving is a characteristic of the people of innovation, among whom are the Khawarij, may Allah curse them. What is your kind advice toward them?
A 4: There is no harm in shaving the head for a man, especially when there is a need for it; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted it, and he said to the man with the bald patch: narrated by Ahmad . And he ordered the mother of the children of Ja'far ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) to shave the heads of her children when the need called for it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
