The Woman's Hijab

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 14768 )
Q3: There is a jilbab for women that is open at the front with buttons and is called in the Kingdom : (the Kab). Is there any religious prohibition in wearing it? And what is the ruling on wearing the Saudi abaya that is open at the front? Because I have learned from one of the sisters that any abaya open at the front with buttons is forbidden to wear. Is this correct?
A3: It is obligatory for the woman to cover her entire body from non-mahram men, such that the clothing covers all parts of her body, is loose and does not define any part of the body, and is thick and does not reveal the color of her skin. As for the abaya or jilbab that the woman wears over her clothes being open or having buttons at the front, there is no harm in it, provided that her clothing is covering as mentioned above. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
