Hijab from the Disbelieving Woman
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 3250 )
Q1: Is it obligatory to observe hijab from the disbelieving woman , or is she treated as the Muslim woman is treated?
A1: There are two opinions among the scholars, and the stronger one is that it is not obligatory; because this was not reported from the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) nor from any of the other female Companions when they gathered with the Jewish women in Madinah, nor with the polytheist women, even if it had been the case, it would have been transmitted, just as things less significant than this were transmitted. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
