The fourth question of the fatwa number ( 21368 )
Q 4: There is a phenomenon among some of the worshippers, which is: when the imam says: ("Stand in order, be straight"), they say: ("We are standing in order, obedient"), and when the imam says:[Al-Fatihah 1:5], the followers say: ("We seek help from Allah") , and when the imam intends to conclude the prayer and says the closing salam, they gently strike their thighs with their hands and then say the salam. My question is: Is this established in the Sunnah? Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do it? Does it have a basis in the Shari'ah?
A 4: Saying: ("We are standing in order, obedient") is not prescribed; because there is no evidence for it, and it is not prescribed to say in the prayer: ("We seek help from Allah") when reciting the words of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Fatihah 1:5]; because this has not been reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and striking with the hands when concluding the prayer from the prayer is a religious innovation, so it must be abandoned and forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
