Q: Is it permissible to hold the Friday Prayer in one of the rest houses located in the outskirts of the city of Riyadh around al-Janadriyah, or in al-Yasmin district in the north of Riyadh if a large number of people gather there on the occasion of something ? It is known that the rest houses are not more than four or five kilometers away from the mosques. May Allah preserve you and grant the Muslims the benefit of your life.
the Noble, and peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
A: It is obligatory for all Muslim men to perform the Friday Prayer in the mosques with the Muslim congregation if they are residents, meaning not travelers, and they must not be negligent regarding the matter of Friday Prayer. It is not permissible to hold it in the rest houses located in the outskirts of the city. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
