Sleeping constantly during the Fajr prayer is not an excuse

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 15136 )
Q: Is it permissible for one who missed the congregational prayer to make it up after the time for the prayer has ended, or is it not? Because the time is a condition for the validity of the prayer. Is sleeping through the Fajr prayer always an excuse? And is it permissible to make up the prayer after the sun rises every day? Because some people say: do not make it up, but leave it; because its time has ended; because the time is a condition for the validity of the prayer.
A: First: It is obligatory for one who missed the prayer to hasten to make it up; because it is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever sleeps through a prayer or forgets it, let him pray it when he remembers it; there is no expiation for it except that.من نام عن صلاة أو نسيها فليصلها إذا ذكرها؛ لا كفارة لها إلا ذلك
. Second: It is obligatory for the Muslim to do the things that help him wake up early from sleep, such as setting an alarm or asking someone who wakes up early to wake him for the Fajr prayer. The Muslim is not excused for sleeping constantly and missing the prayer, nor should he only pray when he feels like getting up from sleep; because that exposes him to the warning mentioned in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلاَةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
[Maryam 19:59]
and His saying:
(4) So woe to those who pray (5) [But] who are heedless of their prayer -فَوَيْلٌ لِلْمُصَلِّينَ (4) الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلاَتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
[Al-Ma'un 107:4-5]
.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
