The presence of graves outside the walls of the mosque

Fatwa number ( 20896 )
Q: I live in a village where most of the people are concerned with customs and traditions,
and there is a small mosque—praise be to Allah—but the problem is that in the qiblah direction of this mosque there is a shrine of a righteous wali, called ( Ali ibn Khazan ), and two other graves which are said to be the graves of his sons, and on its northern side there is another group of graves whose number is unknown. Is it permissible to pray in this mosque? Knowing that these graves are outside the walls of the mosque, and if it is not permissible, where should I pray the Friday prayer? This is with the knowledge that there is another mosque 3 km away, but its land is encroached upon. I ask for an answer because I am afraid of missing the congregational prayer.
A: It is not permissible to pray in the aforementioned mosque; because the construction of the shrine is connected to it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying at graves, and the prohibition implies invalidity, and he forbade building mosques over graves; because that is one of the means of shirk (associating partners with Allah). May Allah guide us and you to knowing the truth and acting upon it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
