Fatwa No. ( 21334 )
Q: The city of Kinamu is 25 km from Nairobi , and unfortunately, there is no mosque or school there. Despite the lack of resources, we have resolved, relying on Allah, to build both. Is it permissible to spend the amounts collected from non-Muslims on building the mosque and the school ? Please inform us, may Allah reward you, with an answer to this question in light of the Book and the Sunnah, and the practice of the Salaf of this Ummah. May Allah reward you and the Muslims with the best reward.
A: It is permissible for Muslims to allow non-Muslims to spend on Islamic projects, such as mosques and schools, provided that this does not result in harm to the Muslims that outweighs the benefit. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
