Reciting al-Fatihah at the grave
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of the fatwa number ( 15662 )
Q4: I ask you, Your Eminence, to recite al-Fatihah for me at the grave of the noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
A4: As for the questioner's request that al-Fatihah be recited for him at the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), both are not prescribed: neither reciting al-Fatihah for a person, nor reciting at a grave, whether it is the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or any other. Both are among the innovations introduced in the religion, so they must be abandoned. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
