Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa number ( 20321 )
Q2: Iswhat people say after the recitation: “O Allah, make the reward of that or its like for the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)or an increase in his honor (peace and blessings be upon him) permissible or not?
A2: This is an innovated matter that is not found in the Sunnah, and it is not from the practice of the Salaf of the Ummah, so it is not permissible; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
, and his saying:
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.من أحدث في أمرنا هذا ما ليس منه فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718a
, and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The worst of things are those that are newly invented; every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire.وشر الأمور محدثاتها، وكل محدثة بدعة، وكل بدعة ضلالة، وكل ضلالة في النار
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1578Sahih (Darussalam)
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
