Dedication of the reward to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa number ( 3582 )
Q2: On the last night of the blessed month of Ramadan 1400 AH, the imam was leading the people in prayer and completed the recitation of the Qur'an, saying: "This completion of the Qur'an is dedicated to the soul of our master, our lord and our prophet, Muhammad the Pure." What is the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding this?
A2: It is not permissible to dedicate the reward to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), whether it is the completion of the Qur'an
or anything else; because the righteous Salaf, from among the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and those who came after them, did not do this, and acts of worship are based on divine legislation. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) has the reward of his Ummah in every good deed they do; because he is the one who called them to it and guided them to it. And it is authentically reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
One who guides to something good has a reward similar to that of its doer.من دل على خير فله مثل أجر فاعله
Sahih Muslim 1893a
, narrated by Muslim in his Sahih from the hadith of Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
