The first and second questions from Fatwa number ( 15391 )
Q1: We are in the mosque, and after the 'Asr prayer, it is our custom to sit
with a shaykh who recites the Qur'an, and after the recitation is finished, there is a supplication. What is the ruling on this supplication?
A1: Making it a habit to supplicate after finishing the recitation of the Qur'an is considered a religious innovation (bid'ah); because there is no evidence for it. However, if one supplicates on some occasions without making it a regular practice, there is no harm.
