The Innovation of Slaughter in Safar

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 11100 )
Q2: My father slaughters a sheep every year in the month of Safar, on the last Wednesday of the month. During the slaughter, he says: “A charity for the sake of the Noble Allah, between us and all evil.” Sometimes he does not slaughter it himself, but one of my brothers slaughters it on my father’s order. On this day, he takes an omen as a bad sign, does not walk far, and says: “The Companions were defeated on this day…” and so on. Is it permissible to eat from this sheep or not?
A2: We know no basis for slaughtering a sheep on the last Wednesday of the month of Safar, or for the supplication your father recites during the slaughter. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
