Q: A person leads people in the Friday prayer, and he believes that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is present in every place, and we have explained to him with clear evidence from the Book and the Sunnah that Allah is in every place with His knowledge, but His Self, the Exalted, is above everything, and he rejected this belief strongly. The question: Is our prayer behind him accepted or not?
And there is a man who is present everywhere, and we have explained to him with clear evidence from the Book and the Sunnah that Allah is everywhere with His knowledge, whereas His Self, the Exalted, is above everything, and he rejected this belief strongly. The question: Is our prayer behind him acceptable or not?
A : The belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community is that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is in the height above His creations, rising above His Throne, distinct from His creation. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Mulk 67:16] , and Allah the Exalted said: [Al-A'la 87:1] , and Allah the Exalted said: [Al-An'am 6:18] , . And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in his supplication: Sunan Ibn Majah 3831Sahih (Darussalam) , and Allah the Exalted said: [Al-A'raf 7:54] in seven places in His Book, and the Muslims agreed that Allah with His Self is above His creations,
rising above His Throne, Glorified is He, without how we know it, and His knowledge is in every place. So whoever believes that He is in every place is a hululi disbeliever, and it is not permissible to pray behind him nor is the prayer valid; because he is a denier of Allah and His Messenger and the consensus of the Muslims. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?
أَأَمِنْتُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُExalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,
سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَىAnd He is the subjugator over His servants
وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِAnd the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the girl: Where is Allah? She said: In the sky. So her master said: Free her, for she is a believer.
وقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم للجارية: أين الله؟ قالت: في السماء. فقال سيدها: أعتقها فإنها مؤمنةYou are the Most High, and there is nothing above You
وأنت الظاهر فليس فوقك شيءIndeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne
إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِrising above His Throne, Glorified is He, without how we know it, and His knowledge is in every place. So whoever believes that He is in every place is a hululi disbeliever, and it is not permissible to pray behind him nor is the prayer valid; because he is a denier of Allah and His Messenger and the consensus of the Muslims. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
