The Claim of Seeing Allah the Exalted in This World and the Hereafter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18370 )
Q 2: On page 176 of the book (Samir al-Mu'minin fi al-Mawa'izh wa al-Hukm) by its author Muhammad al-Hajjar , it says: (I say: Seeing Allah the Exalted is rationally permissible, in this world and the hereafter, while awake and in sleep, for He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is existent, and every existent thing can be seen, and because of Musa's question to Him, where he asked Him:
he said, "My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You."قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنْظُرْ إِلَيْكَ
[Al-A'raf 7:143]
. If it had been impossible, our master Musa (peace be upon him) would not have asked for it. However, it did not occur in this world except for our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is obligatory by the Shari'ah in the hereafter, based on the Book, the Sunnah, and scholarly consensus. Seeing Allah occurs through a power that Allah places in His creation, and it does not require facing, direction, or the connection of rays to the seen; for He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is perceived by the intellect as transcendent, so likewise by the eye, because both are created). Question: We hope you, our noble Shaykh, will clarify the validity or invalidity of this statement.

A 2: The seeing of the believers of their Lord on the Day of Resurrection is established by the Book and the Sunnah
and the consensus of the people of the Sunnah and the community. As for in this world, it is not possible, and it has not occurred for anyone, neither for our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) nor for anyone else, due to the inability of humans to do so in this world. The believers will see their Lord on the Day of Resurrection in Paradise in the direction of the height. As for the statement that He is seen without a direction, that is the statement of the innovators, and it is a false statement that contradicts what is established in the evidence regarding the height of Allah above His creation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
