Slaughter for the deceased with the intention of drawing near to them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of fatwa number ( 18565 )
Q 2: In some of our villages, certain feasts are held called: the feast of my master so-and-so and so-and-so. People attend them, and when I rebuke them for traveling to these villages, they say: “Our intention is to visit our relatives, or to shop in the markets that are held there, or for the purpose of trade.” Is this permissible, and is the intention alone taken into account in this matter?
A 2: Slaughter for the deceased with the intention of drawing near to them is major shirk (associating partners with Allah). If it is done with the intention of celebrating their birth or commemorating their occasions, without drawing near to them through it, then it is a forbidden religious innovation (bid'ah). It is obligatory to abandon it and to forbid it, even if people have become accustomed to it, so it is not permissible to continue with it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
