The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18649 )
Q3: She made a vow to read the Qur'an and complete its recitation once every month after childbirth until the end of her life , and now she has been doing this for seven years, but she has not completed the recitation of the Qur'an except for six months, so what is the ruling in this? I want a solution.
A3: It is obligatory to fulfill the aforementioned vow; because it is a vow of obedience, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the fulfillment of vows by saying:
Whoever vows that he will be obedient to Allah, should remain obedient to Himمن نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه
Sahih al-Bukhari 6696
, and she must make up the completions of the Qur'an that she left behind in the future, and we ask Allah for her assistance and success. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
