Q: I vowed to slaughter a sacrificial animal, so I paid a ransom for my escape from the flood , and I brought the ransom to my uncle's house, and I did not mention the ransom until after I had crossed
the line, and does this suffice for my vow, or do I complete the vow?
A: You must fulfill the vow you made conditional on your escape from the flood, if the condition upon which you made your vow is met; because it is a vow of nearness and obedience to Allah; due to the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 2126Sahih (Darussalam) , narrated by al-Bukhari , and the ransom you presented to your uncle's house does not suffice for you; because you did not intend it for your vow. We advise you not to make vows in the future; because a vow does not bring good, and it may oblige a person to do something he cannot fulfill, in which case he sins by leaving it, and it is authentic from him (peace and blessings be upon him) from the hadith of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) who said: Sahih al-Bukhari 6693 . Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim . And you must slaughter the sacrificial animal you vowed in any place and distribute it to the poor. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه ومن نذر أن يعصي الله فلا يعصهThe Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the making of vows and said, "It (a vow) does not prevent anything (that has to take place), but the property of a miser is spent (taken out) with it."
نهى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن النذر وقال: إنه لا يرد من قدر الله شيئًا، وإنما يستخرج به من البخيل
