I made a vow that if my father is healed from this illness, I will sacrifice a camel, and I also made another vow

Fatwa No. ( 4652 )
Q: I am a young man, about 24 years old. When I was between 15 and 16 years old, my father was ill, so I made a vow that if my father recovered from this illness, I would sacrifice a camel. I also made another vow that my aunt was ill, so I vowed that whenever she recovered, I would slaughter a camel. However, I have not fulfilled these two vows to this day. At this time, I ask your eminence to inform me about this issue. Knowing that at that time I did not know the value of the vow, nor its manner; therefore, I ask you to inform me and guide me to the right path, and may Allah preserve you.
A: You must fulfill your vow; for it is established from A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, and whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him.من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه، ومن نذر أن يعصي الله فلا يعصه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2126Sahih (Darussalam)
It was narrated by al-Bukhari in (his Sahih), and you must seek forgiveness from Allah for delaying the fulfillment.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
