Preoccupation with Visiting the Brothers
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 10893 )
Q: He works with his father in a factory for (12) hours a day compulsorily, and his father prevents him from visiting his brothers or keeping their company. He asks: Is it forbidden for me not to visit and being prevented from my friends and the lessons in the mosque, or is it forbidden for my father?
A : Visiting good brothers and meeting them occasionally to understand beneficial knowledge, consulting on solving the problems that confront them, and cooperating in righteousness and piety is encouraged in the Shari'ah; because of the good in it and the strengthening of the bonds of Islamic brotherhood, provided that this does not cut the Muslim off from earning what he needs in his life, nor does he neglect the rights of his family and maintaining his family ties. The Muslim should strive to achieve this in order to realize the benefit. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
