Q 7: Is it true that it is bad to sleep on the stomach ? I was told that sleeping on the stomach is disliked because that is how Satan sleeps, except
that I have been accustomed to sleeping in this position since I was young, and I still do so now out of habit. What is the ruling on this?
A 7 : It is disliked to sleep on the stomach; for what Abu Dawud narrated from Takhfah ibn Qays al-Ghifari , who said:Sunan Abi Dawud 5040Da'if (Al-Albani) . It was narrated by Abu Dawud in the chapter (On a man lying on his stomach). It should be abandoned even if it is a person's habit; because it is prescribed for the Muslim to abandon a habit that contradicts the Shari'ah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
