The questioner : He says: My father performed Hajj last year. He is an ordinary man who walks on one leg, relying on a cane. He heard that the farewell tawaf is six circuits, and given his circumstances, he left it off. What must I do regarding him so that I can be at ease about the performance of this rite in the best manner, especially since I was unable to perform Hajj this year? Should I give some pilgrims the value of the sacrificial animal so they slaughter it on his behalf, or should I have someone perform the tawaf for him? And if I go to perform 'Umrah or tawaf on his behalf, will I have done what is obligatory? Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : As long as your father left off only the farewell tawaf, the scholars say that whoever leaves off an obligatory part of Hajj must slaughter a fidyah in Makkah and distribute it to the poor. Accordingly, appoint someone among those going to Makkah to buy a sheep or a goat for you, slaughter it, and give it in charity to the poor there. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
This listener, Mustafa Sha'ban, an Egyptian resident of the blessed Makkah al-Mukarramah, in al-Nuzhah, sent three questions.
