The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 19479 )
Q 5: Is it permissible for a Muslim man or woman to work in the military factories of the disbelievers , or to participate in what strengthens their army in terms of numbers and equipment, such as a computer scientist or otherwise, or to join their armies?
A 5: It is not permissible for a Muslim to work in the military factories of the disbelievers, or to participate in what strengthens their might, or to join their armies; because that is a type of their loyalty, and Allah the Exalted says:[Ali 'Imran 3:28] , and He says, Glorified is He: [Al-Ma'idah 5:51] And the verses in this
meaning are many. It is feared that the one who does these works will reach a state of complete loyalty to the disbelievers, becoming counted among them without realizing it, so the saying of Allah the Exalted applies to him:[Al-Ma'idah 5:51] , and His saying, Glorified is He: [Ali 'Imran 3:28] the verse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
Q 5: Is it permissible for a Muslim man or woman to work in the military factories of the disbelievers , or to participate in what strengthens their army in terms of numbers and equipment, such as a computer scientist or otherwise, or to join their armies?
A 5: It is not permissible for a Muslim to work in the military factories of the disbelievers, or to participate in what strengthens their might, or to join their armies; because that is a type of their loyalty, and Allah the Exalted says:
Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers
لاَ يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَO you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى أَوْلِيَاءَmeaning are many. It is feared that the one who does these works will reach a state of complete loyalty to the disbelievers, becoming counted among them without realizing it, so the saying of Allah the Exalted applies to him:
And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them
وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْAnd whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence
وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلا أَنْ تَتَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ تُقَاةً
