Q 1: Is anesthetizing the animal before slaughtering it with an anesthetic considered part of excellence in slaughter, and what is its ruling?
A 1: Excellence in the slaughtered animal is commanded, as in the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan an-Nasa'i 4412Sahih (Darussalam) , and easing the animal’s suffering is achieved by having a sharp slaughtering tool and by performing
the slaughter at the proper place. As for anesthetizing with an anesthetic, it is not permissible; because it may lead to its death before being able to slaughter it. However, if it is found alive and then slaughtered, its meat is permissible to eat. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

It was narrated that Shaddad bin Aws said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah has decreed proficiency in all things, so when you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters.'"
إن الله كتب الإحسان على كل شيء، فإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبحةthe slaughter at the proper place.
