The meaning of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (I am the son of the two sacrificed)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Please explain to us the saying of the noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
I am the son of the two who were sacrificed.أنا ابن الذبيحين
.

Answer: This is narrated from him (peace and blessings be upon him), and there is a consideration regarding its authenticity, but it is well-known. The two sacrificed are Isma'il and 'Abdullah. Isma'il was his grandfather, the son of Ibrahim. Indeed, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) commanded Ibrahim to sacrifice him, then He abrogated that, and praise be to Allah. When they submitted to the command of Allah, Allah abrogated that and ransomed him with a great sacrifice.
As for 'Abdullah, the well-known account is that 'Abd al-Muttalib vowed that if Allah granted him ten sons, he would draw near to Allah by sacrificing one of them. So he was given what he hoped for, and Allah gave him ten. He then cast lots among them to see which one would be sacrificed, and the lot fell on 'Abdullah. He did not sacrifice him but ransomed him with one hundred camels instead of sacrificing him. This blood money became established among Quraysh, as mentioned by a group of historians, for Quraysh and 'Abd al-Muttalib.
It is also narrated from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
I am the son of the two who were sacrificed.أنا ابن الذبيحين
as an explanation of this, meaning: the sacrificed one is Isma'il and the sacrificed one is 'Abdullah, whom his father almost sacrificed had he not been ransomed with one hundred camels, and had Allah not abrogated the sacrifice of Isma'il.
They are two who deserved to be sacrificed, had it not been for the protection from Allah, the protection Allah granted them from being sacrificed by abrogating the sacrifice in the case of Isma'il and by 'Abd al-Muttalib ransoming his son with one hundred camels. This is the well-known view regarding this. Yes.
