The Ruling on Murr for the Treatment of Certain Diseases
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 2830 )
Q 4: Is the murr found in the shops of some apothecaries, which is taken to treat certain diseases, lawful or forbidden? Knowing that some people say: Angels do not enter a house in which there is murr.
A 4: The murr found in the shops of some apothecaries is lawful; because the original ruling is its permissibility, and we do not know of any evidence that forbids it. And this statement you mentioned from some people: that angels do not enter a house in which there is murr, we do not know of any basis for it, rather it is false. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
