Going to those who use jinn to treat diseases
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 10802 ):
Q: We inform you that in Zambia there is a Muslim man who claims that he has
jinn, and people come to him and ask for medicine for their illnesses, and this jinn prescribes the medicine for them. Is this permissible? I told the people that this is not permissible, and the people get angry with me, so I ask your Eminence to kindly send the fatwa as soon as possible.
A: It is not permissible for that man to use jinn, and it is not permissible for people to go to him seeking treatment for diseases through the jinn he uses, nor to have their needs met through that means. In treatment through human doctors with permissible medicines, there is sufficiency and independence from that, along with safety from the divination of diviners. It is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih Muslim 2230 narrated by Muslim in his Sahih, and the people of the four Sunan and al-Hakim transmitted it, and al-Hakim graded it as authentic, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Ibn Majah 639Hasan (Darussalam) , and this man and his companions from the jinn are considered among the diviners and soothsayers, so it is not permissible to ask them or to believe them. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
