Swearing by Allah or by one of His attributes
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number ( 7804 )
Q1: An architect close to me drew a residential plan for my land, and when he finished that, I put 5,000 riyals in an envelope for him, and when I gave it to him, he refused, so I swore to him that he should take it, and he swore that he would not take it , and indeed he did not take it, so what is the ruling and what should be done?
A1: If the situation is as you described, and your oath was by Allah or by one of His attributes, then you owe an expiation for an oath, which is: feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. If you cannot do that, then fast for three days. If your oath was by something else, then specify it so that you may be answered according to your specification. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
