The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 4125 )
Q4: What is the ruling on the trim found on men’s abayas, given the suspicion that it is mixed with gold?
A4: The people of expertise were previously asked about the wires and ornaments placed on the edges of abayas, which appear to be gold to the one who sees them. They informed that there is no gold in them. Accordingly, wearing the abaya with such ornaments on its edge is permissible. And if it is assumed that some gold is found in it, it is little, so it is also permissible, because it is incidental. However, if it were certain that it contains a lot of gold, wearing it would be forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
