The second question of Fatwa No. ( 5001 )
Q2: How is it possible to reconcilethe statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):and his permission for men to wear silk in cases of scabiesdespite the prohibition of silk for them?
A2: The permissibility of men using silk for the sake of itching is specific, while the prohibition of treating oneself with what is forbidden is general. Therefore, the use of silk is excluded from the general prohibition for the specific cause mentioned. The Shari'ah has provided for the exclusion of specific issues from general rulings in many places. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
