The belt for a man wearing gold
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa number ( 4123 )
Q3: As you know, in our country we wear belts with pockets, and we put half gold pounds in them. Some of the brothers wear gold rings, and some of them wear a gold chain around their necks. They say that the scholars permitted a small amount of silk, so they compare these things to that. Is their action correct, and what is the ruling? Also, they wear gold teeth.
A3: The principle is that the use of gold is forbidden for the males of this Ummah, and permissible for its females; for what was narrated by Ahmad , al-Nasa'i , al-Tirmidhi , Abu Dawud , and al-Hakim , through the route of Sa'id ibn Abi Hind , from Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Mishkat al-Masabih 4341 And al-Tirmidhi and al-Hakim graded it as authentic, and they pointed out a defect in it because Sa'id did not meet Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), but it has authentic corroborating narrations that support it. Therefore, it is forbidden for men to wear gold rings, and to place gold pounds or half pounds on belts, sheaths, and the like. It is also forbidden for a man to wear a gold chain around his neck; because of the prohibition of gold for men, and because of the imitation of women involved in it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the imitation of women. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
