Using a medical belt, specifically during tawaf. I cannot move or walk without this medical belt, and it is a sewn belt. Is it permissible for me?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Using a medical belt during tawaf. I cannot move or walk without this medical belt, and this is, of course, a sewn belt. Is it permissible for me to use it during Hajj?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible for a person to use this belt in Hajj and in 'Umrah as well, even if it is sewn. And we must know that when the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) said that it is forbidden for a man to wear sewn garments, they meant wearing the shirt, the trousers, the T-shirts, the coat, and the like. Therefore, we must understand the scholars' words as they intended them. Also, the phrase "wearing sewn garments" is not narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It was said that the first to utter it was one of the jurists of the Tabi'un, Ibrahim al-Nakha'i. As for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he did not say to the community, "Do not wear sewn garments." Rather, he was asked, "What does the one in ihram wear?" and he said:
Do not wear shirts or pants, or 'Imamahs, or burnouses, or Khuffs لا يلبس القميص، ولا السراويل، ولا العمائم، ولا البرانس، ولا الخفاف
Sunan an-Nasa'i 2673Sahih (Darussalam)
He did not mention the word "sewing" at all. Therefore, the texts must be understood as intended by the speaker.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
