Replacing a tooth or coating it with gold or silver

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of Fatwa No. ( 2387 )
Q 8: It was said: that attaching a man's tooth with gold or silver is permissible, so what is the ruling on replacing a tooth or coating it with gold or silver, with evidence from the Book and the Sunnah regarding the permissibility or prohibition?

A 8: The established principle, in both statement and practice, is the prohibition of gold and silver for men, whether drinking from vessels made of them, wearing what is made from them, or what is woven or adorned with them, or the like, except for what evidence indicates is permissible; such as a silver ring and gilding a vessel with it. Making a tooth or nose from them, or one of them, or coating a tooth with them is not among the matters that evidence indicates are exempted from the prohibition, so it remains under the original prohibition, unless dire necessity calls for making a nose or tooth from them, or coating a tooth with them or one of them—in that case, it is permissible due to dire necessity. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
