Zakah in Gold and Silver.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : First, zakah is obligatory in gold and silver. As for silver, the Muslims have reached scholarly consensus on this. As for gold, the Muslims have also reached scholarly consensus on the obligation of zakah in it, though they differ on some matters. The correct view is that gold and silver are of one category, their zakah is the same, and their status is the same, except that each has its own specific minimum threshold (nisab). Zakah is obligatory in gold and silver in whatever form they are, whether as currency, such as dirhams and dinars, or as bullion. What is bullion? Bullion refers to ingots of gold or ingots of silver, or as jewelry.
