that it is not for adornment, but in some Islamic countries, it has become customary for a married man to wear a gold ring as a habit.
A1: It is forbidden (haram) for a man to wear a gold ring or a gold band, whether it is for marriage or otherwise, and whether it is adopted as a custom or not; it is forbidden (haram) due to the hadiths mentioned in the answer to the third question. Men adopting this as a custom in marriage for the married is a religious innovation (bid'ah), an imitation of the Europeans, and imitating the disbelievers. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned against this and said:Sunan Abi Dawud 4031Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani) , and he said: Sahih Muslim 1718a .
