In recent days, the use of gold or silver vessels, or those plated with them, has become widespread in some Muslim homes. What is the ruling on eating from them, and is it permissible to use them for adornment? Please issue a ruling on this matter, and may Allah reward you with all good.
A: It is not permissible to use gold and silver vessels for eating and drinking; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Ibn Hibban 43:29 narrated by Muslim , and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Bulugh al-Maram 16 agreed upon as authentic. Likewise, it is not permissible to possess gold and silver vessels; because that is using gold and silver for eating and drinking, and possessing them is not permissible because it is a means to their use. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

The one who drinks from gold and silver vessels is merely pouring the Fire of Hell into his stomach
الذي يشرب في آنية الذهب والفضة إنما يجرجر في بطنه نار جهنمDo not drink in silver or gold utensils, and do not eat in plates of such metals, for such things are for them (the disbelievers) in this worldly life and for you in the Hereafter.
لا تشربوا في آنية الذهب والفضة، ولا تأكلوا في صحافها، فإنها لهم في الدنيا ولكم في الآخرة
