Q: We ask Your Eminence to issue a ruling on the permissibility of plating metals with gold, silver, and chrome water , which are sanitary material mixers, in order to protect them from rust or corrosion. We ask the Lord to grant you continued health and a long life.
A: It is not permissible to plate utensils with gold or silver water, but there is no harm in plating with chrome if it is not made of gold or silver, and the benefit mentioned in the question is thereby achieved. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
